R Crumb, considered by
many as the most prominent of the 'underground' comic artists, has
recently become more widely known not just as an artist, but as a
musician and collector of vintage American jazz music. Nevertheless,
his anti-establishment, satirical and raw take on American culture
persists, and his friendship with fellow iconoclast Charles Bukowski
is perfectly embodied in this drawing. |
